Valuing small farmers

In April, the Pope asks you to remember in your prayers small farmers, to receive a just reward for their precious labor.

In many parts of the world, small farmers are key to the local economy, providing essential food and contributing to the care of creation. However, their important and difficult work is not always recognized. Often they face stiff competition from large companies that can produce at very low prices, and are defenseless against extreme weather events such as droughts or floods. This month, join with the Church, praying that the work of small farmers is valued by all.

The Pope invites you also to pray for the Christians of Africa, so that in the midst of so many political and religious conflicts, they may give witness to love and faith in Jesus Christ in those regions.
